POWA FORUM
The POWA Forum is thus essentially a platform designed to engage persons of diverse backgrounds in a series of conversations to facilitate the development of women.
The POWA FORUM is necessary, because notwithstanding the numerous calls for a gender inclusive approach to development, the reality is still the case, that women’s opinions are given a tokenistic consideration as women are by and large relegated to playing a marginal role in almost every facet of our society. The under-representation of women’s active participation in design, decision making and implementation; especially within the major policy sectors of our society, undermines the effectiveness of policy interventions that are ostensibly intended to addresses the concerns of women.
The POWA Forum is uniquely positioned to initiate women’s interest conversations, as a means to generate national attention on gender topical issue discussions by engaging influential, inspirational, innovative and incisive thinkers from across genders, professions and careers.
In the course of its dialogues, The POWA Forum will bring to light the diversity and value of women, as well as explore readily accessible and applicable solutions to the many social, political, cultural and economic struggles that confront women on daily basis.
broadening the empowerment of women through our objectives including:
- To undertake programs, campaigns, workshops and other project initiatives to address issues affecting women’s equal inclusion in the political and socioeconomic development of Ghana.
- To campaign through research and advocacy for the protection of women's rights and support for affirmative action.
